On July 28, 2024, the two-day 10th Microbial Breeding Engineering and Application Evaluation Seminar and the 7th Academic Conference of the Microbial Breeding Engineering and Application Evaluation Branch of the China Bio-fermentation Industry Association came to a successful conclusion at the Meng Minwei Concert Hall of Tsinghua University.
The conference was jointly sponsored by China Bio-fermentation Industry Association, Department of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University, and Wuxi Institute of Applied Technology of Tsinghua University, co-organized by Key Laboratory of Industrial Biocatalysis of Ministry of Education of Tsinghua University and Institute of Biomedicine and Health Engineering of Shenzhen International Graduate School of Tsinghua University, and hosted by Microbial Breeding Engineering and Application Evaluation Branch of China Bio-fermentation Industry Association, Anhui Industrial Microbial Molecular Breeding Engineering Research Center, Luoyang Tmaxtree Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Wuxi Tmaxtree Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Nearly 500 experts, well-known scholars, entrepreneurs, senior technicians, and graduate students from academia and industry participated in the conference.
Wang Jie, vice President of China Bio-fermentation Industry Association, Wang Tiefeng, director of Chemical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, and Li Chun, director of Key Laboratory of Industrial Biocatalysis of Ministry of Education delivered opening speeches. Zeng Anping, academician of West Lake University and Lu Fuping, president of Tianjin University of Science and Technology gave keynote speeches on Industrialization of Synthetic Biology and Biomanufacturing: Construction and Evolution of High-yield Strains and High-throughput Evolutionary Screening Promotes the Construction and Transformation of Industrial Microbial Strains respectively. This conference focused on themes such as industrial microbial breeding technology, high-throughput strain screening technology, fermentation process optimization and amplification, green bio-manufacturing and microbial application evaluation. It invited 28 well-known domestic experts from the academic and industrial circles of biological breeding from Jiangnan University, Tianjin University, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Biogas Science Institute, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Tsinghua University, Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangxi University, Nanjing University of Technology, South China University of Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, China Institute of Food Fermentation Industry, Beijing Institute of Technology, Shandong University, Qilu University of Technology, Anhui University of Technology, Guizhou University, Sichuan University of Light Industry, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Qingdao Agricultural University, Nanchang University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Xinjiang University,Meifutai Biological and other units.
